Having crickets in my head

  1. grilliIn Italian, saying you have crickets in your head means you have weird ideas as if you had plenty of crickets jumping and chirping that won’t let you think wisely.

I recently discovered that this saying has a biological meaning. In fact, we have some genes in our brain called Grillo genes (grillo means cricket in Italian) that can jump from one side of our genome to the other and are able to change it.

In the human brain this happens not so often, and that’s what makes our brain so stable.
Hope you enjoy!
